Academia Americană de Film a anunţat nominalizările la premiile Oscar 2020, iar filmele „The Irishman“, „Once Upon a Time in Hollywood“, „1917“ şi „Joker“ au primit cele mai multe selecţii.

Controversatul film al lui Todd Philips, „Joker“, a primit cele mai multe nominalizări la premiile Oscar 2020, respectiv 11, inclusiv la cele mai importante categorii - Cel mai bun film, Cel mai bun regizor, Cel mai bun actor în rol principal (Joaquin Phoenix). 

„Once Upon a Time in Hollywood“, al lui Quentin Tarantino, „The Irishman“, saga regizată de Martin Scorsese, şi „1917“, semnat de Sam Mendes, urmează în topul filmelor cu cele mai multe nominalizări la Oscar 2020, primind fiecare câte 10.

Ceremonia de decernare a premiilor Oscar 2020 va avea loc pe 9 februarie, la Los Angeles. La fel ca anul trecut, evenimentul nu va avea o gazdă.
